27 Fugues arranged for Viol Quartet

Peter Ballinger has selected 27 fugues from the "95 Fugues on the Magnificat" by Johann Pachelbel for this new edition, following the success of his edition of 33 Fugues arranged for three viols (VC063). The modal setting of these fugues gives them a haunting quality; most of them are not difficult, but a few are an exciting challenge, particularly for the bass viol. The second tenor part is playable, sometimes preferably, by another bass.
