This is the third in our series of Custom Made Music editions by San Francisco composer Belinda Reynolds. It contains six new pieces for B-flat Clarinet(s): two solos, two duets, and two extended pieces for clarinet and piano. The page illustrated is the final page of the piano part of the second of the latter two pieces, "Sparks". Belinda's pieces have been tested by renowned clarinettist Jeffrey Anderle and have been tested by a number of clarinet teachers and students to ensure that they are suitable for young players, both for their playability and 'enjoyment level'. The score, which includes the part for piano, also comes with a CD in which all of the pieces are played by Jeff Anderle, together with clarinettist Anna-Christina Phillips in the duets, and pianist Keisuke Nakagoshi in the two pieces for clarinet and piano. The CD also includes the piano part for these two pieces played (from computer notation) using simulated Steinway piano sounds by Garritan Personal Orchestra. Each piece is played at the composer's designated tempo and at slower tempi for the student's convenience in getting to know the pieces. The cover image is by Molly Campbell.
